The region around Ilmenau is marked by its tradition in glass production for centuries. Our company’s roots can be pursued over circa 50 years.
Until the end of 1995 were our members, counting to the founders and companions of ZGU, responsible for analytical monitoring of the production of numerous general and special glasses in the Ilmenauer Glaswerke’s laboratory.
In November 1997 the Zentrum für Glas – und Umweltanalytik was founded as a neutral and independent service institution. Since that time we achieved a considerable acceptance in German glass industry, work for clients of different industries and gained a remarkable number of international contacts.
In 1998 and 1999 our own and modern equipped company building was constructed and brought into service. Meanwhile numerous visitors had the possibility to convince of our performance.
The period between 2000 and 2010 was coined by a continuous upward trend. Especially multiple F und E projects as well as five foreign projects were processed successfully. On account of new techniques for our analyses it was possible to exploit additional interesting task fields.
The certification of our quality and management system according to ISO 9001 in May 2011 presents a noticeable step in our development.
In November 2013 the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle (DAkkS) confirmed our competence corresponding to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005. The accreditation applies to the test procedures mentioned in the certificate.
